Olivari presented “5x5, 5 Architects, 5 New Projects”

From 16th to 21th April 2024, Olivari took center stage at the Salone del Mobile in Milan, at Pavilion 22, Stand L15, with an exclusive preview: 5×5, 5 Architects, 5 New Projects. In this edition, the Italian Company, synonymous with excellence in handle and door accessory design, collaborated with five of the world’s leading Architects, presenting five new Collections.

The architects who collaborated with Olivari for this event were Matteo and Renzo Piano, Herzog & de Meuron, Steven Holl, Michael Vincent Uy, and Patricia Urquiola. Each of them developed an original project that embodied their vision of design, both in terms of aesthetics and functionality. Let’s take a closer look at the new proposals.

The new products presented at the Salone del Mobile 2024

  • Lipstick – Matteo and Renzo Piano
The duo composed of Matteo Piano and Renzo Piano designed Lipstick, a handle that reflects the essential architectural language of the Studio RPBW while appealing to younger generations. The design is based on a harmonious composition of pure geometric elements, creating a minimalist yet expressive aesthetic.
  • Basel – Herzog & de Meuron
The Basel series by Herzog & de Meuron showcased a continuous dialogue between innovation and artisanal tradition. This collection stands out for its geometric evolution, culminating in a unique asymmetric form. The series includes a knob, a lever knob, and two handles, which seamlessly integrate the rosette into a fluid connection with the door.
  • Hybrid – Steven Holl
Hybrid, the result of the long collaboration between Olivari and Steven Holl, is a reinterpretation of the Beijing model, originally designed for the Linked Hybrid complex in Beijing. In this new version, geometric rigor becomes the focal point, with a raised texture that provides an innovative tactile sensation.
  • Flute – Michael Vincent Uy
Flute by Michael Vincent Uy is inspired by the elegant shape of a champagne flûte. This handle managed to balance flat and curved surfaces in a design that is both simple and sophisticated, embodying a perfect harmony between classic and modern. The sleek and proportionate lines of Flute are the result of a refined and carefully thought-out design approach.
  • Conca L – Patricia Urquiola
Conca L, designed by Patricia Urquiola, is the third evolution of the successful Conca Originally created for the doors of the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Barcelona, this new version distinguishes itself with its sleek elegance and ergonomic design. The double concave-convex curvature of the handle offers a comfortable and refined grip.

A sensory and interactive experience at the Olivari Stand

Olivari’s Stand at the Salone del Mobile 2024 was designed to offer visitors an innovative and informative experience. Each architect had a dedicated totem, where the new handles were presented in various finishes. Additionally, each totem featured a unique and original moodboard curated by the architects themselves, expressing their artistic vision and the design process behind each creation.
The attention to detail and craftsmanship that have always characterized the Olivari brand were reflected in every new project presented at the Salone del Mobile 2024, making Pavilion 22, Stand L15, a must-visit for design enthusiasts.
