Virgola originated in an interior design project for a villa on Lake Garda. Its formal definition is based on a twofold departure point: history/aesthetics and function/ergonomics.
From a historical point of view, the inside-out curve is generally seen in the bevelling of stone blocks, in iron railings and the edges of metal plaques. It is a romantic detail that associates the handle with the place and times of the past.

Virgola is not a revolutionary project, but a contemporary way of looking at the past.
Functionally, the L-shape of the lever’s classic form was rounded, carved out and mirrored in order to improve the grip and make physical contact between thumb and handle more inviting.
