For my architectural projects, I needed a handle close to my way of designing – a silent object with good proportions that would play its role with character, but without being overbearing. The departure point for the project was linked to the idea of industrial aesthetics more than decorativeness. I wanted a pared-down look, almost an archetype.
In the research phase, we found handles meant for factories and workshops, and the first trials were close to that world.
Those particularly raw prototypes were softened a bit, and that’s how Link was born. It does the job beautifully, and I continue to use it in most of our architectural work. Piero Lissoni— Piero Lissoni
