Joe Colombo’s project of 1971 called for the use of an original axial assembly system that was particularly robust, concealed by a shock absorber made of resin that made a doorstop superfluous. The system was recognised as an invention and patented.

In the 2000s, the adoption of an assembly system with a grub screw allowed for the reproduction of the original shape and special elegance of the Beta handle.
