A one-of-a-kind museum of contemporary art; the renovation of this former T-shirt factory was entrusted to US architect Steven Holl, whose clean, sculptural approach defines its character, weaving the area’s textile heritage into the fabric of the structure.
The 5600 sq m space is transformed into an innovative venue for intercultural exchange between visual arts and music.
The design expresses a fusion of landscape and architecture in a single-storey setting that houses both permanent and traveling exhibitions, a 150-seat auditorium, music rehearsal rooms, a restaurant, library and administrative offices.
